20th: Daytona 500 Party: Not an official club event, but anyone who loves NASCAR should attend. Party will be at the Massey's home in Madera Ranchos. The race starts somewhere around 10am West Coast time. Once we have a feel for how many will be attending we will ask for some to bring some food to share; such as chips, soda, chicken wings or any other type of munchies you might like to bring. While probably the last in the club to finally get a big screen TV, we plan on enjoying it with the race and our friends. Just so you'll know, the surround sound will be turned up loud enough to hear the cars on the back straight . . . LOL. 14th-16th: Cayucos!: Bill and Judy are again hosted one of our best events . . . the Cayucos BBQ Weekend! Those of you coming to town Friday can join us for dinner again on the patio at The Sea Shanty at 6:00pm. The festivities at the Truckell house begin at 2pm but, as always, you are welcome to come over anytime. We will continue the BBQ tradition on Saturday afternoon. 12th: Cruise to the restored 1934 Richfield Station in Coalinga. We will be meeting at the Denny's at Jensen and Hwy 99 at 9:00am and leaving at 9:30 sharp. We are expecting 8 to 10 cars from the Chevy Club and hope that some of the Pontiac Club members will join us. The more the merrier! We are planning to go down Hwy 41 to Hwy 198 to Coalinga and arrive at the Richfield Station somewhere around 11:00. They are supposed to have someone open up the station and museum for viewing, photos and use of the restrooms. We then plan to leave when everyone is ready and cruise over to Hanford for a stop for late lunch at Superior Dairy. So that's the plan. Any questions call me. 3rd: 8th Annual Toys for Tot's All Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show. Show will be at the Toy's R Us parking lot, Shaw at Sunnyside in Clovis, CA. The show will be from 11am to 3pm, and will include some special surprise awards. Entry fee is any unwrapped toy with a value of $10.00 or greater. The show is Rain or Shine! If it's raining, please stop by and drop off your toy and meet some great Marines. You will also be supplied with some great coffee, coco and cookies.
