Saturday October 2nd saw six member of POCC attend the National Guard Car Show. This show is held in conjunction with the Guard's "Family Day". The base plays host to all the family members, giving them a chance to see the base up close, and see just what their family member does.
The show is a great one, which included a delicious Tri-Tip lunch, courtesy of you the tax payer! The down side is all the hoops you have to go through to get your car on the base. First we mustered near the base as they wanted all the cars to arrive at one time; then we all parked in a "staging" area while a sheriff deputy walked his bomb sniffing dog down the row of cars; then you have to drive real slow while your tires are checked for any rocks that could be lodged in the tread and become lost on the tarmac where an F-15 might suck it into the engine; then, after about two hours, you get to park your car in the hanger!!
All in all, it is a great show, and very worth attending!
