3rd Annual Daytona 500 Party Actually Features a RACE!

On Sunday February 24th, NASCAR and (or) Party Fans gathered at the home of Janet and Brian Massey to cheer on their favorite NASCAR driver! It was an historic race because for the first time in NASCAR's 60+ year history, a woman driver was sitting on the pole. And then, again for the first time in NASCAR history, a woman driver led green flag laps!

Besides all that, we had a fun poole headed up by Jeff Dipple. And for the second time in two races, Mike King was the winner. Since he had to leave before the end of the race, his winnings will be presented at the March meeting. There was also a prize for the person who's driver came in dead last. That prize went to Ron Coppola! Loser Ron took home a cool 1/18 diecast 1953 Corvette; very collectable! (So who said "loser"?)

There was also a great array of food to sample, Janet and I want to thank everyone who brought some munchies to share. All in all, we had a fun day!
